Contact information and dates for the 2026 NM Junior Academy of Sciences Paper Competition
The 2025 New Mexico Research Symposium, collaboratively hosted with NM EPSCoR, will be held Saturday, November 15 on the UNM-Albuquerque campus.
Two outstanding educators are honored each year at the annual NMAS meeting with a commemoration, a monetary award, and classroom materials. Each winner and a guest are provided a hotel room, event registration and meal for the annual award ceremony. This award is augmented by a monetary award from the American Chemical Society (ACS). If you know an outstanding teacher, nominate him or her.
Congratulations to our first-place winner in the senior division, Helena Welch, Los Alamos High School and Welch Home School.
The New Mexico Journal of Science is accepting papers for consideration for our upcoming issue.
State competitions for the New Mexico Junior Academy of Science were held Friday, April 11 in Socorro. Each of the participants conducted a research project, wrote a scientific manuscript, and made an oral presentation. Join us in congratulating the winners.
